Deborah A. O’Malley is Associate Director of the Center for Citizenship and Constitutional Government. She holds a BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Ashland University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Baylor University, where she wrote a dissertation on the freedom of religious institutions in the American legal tradition.

After graduating from Baylor, Dr. O’Malley was a postdoctoral fellow in the James Madison Program at Princeton University. She then taught Political Science at Assumption University for four years and served as Associate Director of Assumption’s Daniel Patrick Moynihan Center for Scholarship and Statesmanship. She has participated in fellowships with numerous scholarly organizations, including the Berkely Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University, the John Jay Institute, and the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

She recently received the Jack Miller Center's Excellence in Civic Education Award, and she is currently a Research Fellow with the Center for Religion, Culture & Democracy.
