The Center for Citizenship & Constitutional Government is pleased to announce the call for applications for the Spring 2023 Menard Family Tocqueville Fellowship. The application will be live from November 20 through December 22.

To apply, undergraduate students may use this form to submit a personal statement and resumé/CV to Center Director Prof. Vincent Phillip Muñoz. Applicants will be informed if they have reached the finalist (interview) stage within three weeks of the application deadline.

To apply, students shall fill out basic contact information and provide the following materials:

  • Resume/CV (one page maximum)
  • Personal Statement

For New Applicants: Please answer the following question in 1,000 words or fewer. What do you hope to gain from the serious study of politics, religion, and public life in the Menard Family Tocqueville Fellowship?

For Returning Applicants: In 1,000 words or fewer, reflect on what you have gained from your previous semester/s as a Tocqueville Fellow. Was there a particular discussion, reading, or meeting with a speaker that was especially formative for you? What do you hope to gain from and contribute to the Tocqueville Fellowship next semester?

Students from Notre Dame, St. Mary’s College, and Holy Cross College are encouraged to apply. Students can be part of any college or major, and we welcome students who are not regularly involved in political activities on campus.

Because we are only able to accept a limited number of fellows each semester, we ask and expect applicants to be able to participate in programming and events. Current fellows are asked to reapply each semester to continue with the fellowship.
